Slow Start

My first NYRR race of the year was the “Run for the Parks” 4M in Central Park. Unfortunately, the training I’d been putting in went out the window as I was knocked out for almost three weeks beforehand with a bad upper respiratory infection, brought on by sharing a bug that Adam (aka “Patient Zero”) was dealing with. It was far from my best time (officially 39:29, but “age-graded” as 39:01 on the NYRR website - apparently I’m an old man), but I was happy about being able to keep a solid pace without getting tired, especially after not moving for so long. I pushed for a strong finish, and am ready to work for a better time next month.
